The hotel is lovely in every aspect. Glowing fireplaces and lighted candles made it especially welcoming and warm on a cold, rainy day. The staff at Reception took care to meet every need. Our room was elegant and cozy, with every detail perfect.
We had a truly wonderful time and we were made very welcome. The food was excellent and the surroundings are magical. We are already looking forward to our next stay.
We stayed in one of the courtyard cottages for Valentines night… it was already heated up and cosy when we arrived. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was amazing. Great food, great service.

Our flagship Master Suite boasts fabulous bay window views, large marble ensuite bathroom with a double shower and freestanding roll top bath, complete with two dressing rooms and espresso machine. Situated individually from the Heritage Rooms, it offers guests tranquility and seclusion. You won’t want to leave. The Library Suite is a beautiful quiet space, to relax and enjoy. It boasts large bay windows overlooking the planted terrace of the orangery, a half tester bed, antique furnishings, large marble ensuite bathroom with free standing bath, his and hers gilt washstands and double shower, complete with Nespresso Machine.
Each of our five Main House bedrooms have their own distinct character and name. However, they all offer the same Tankardstown luxury. Experience the emperor sized beds and antique furnishings in Tankardstown’s historic rooms, offering great views overlooking the estate. Sleep like a Lord/Lady in elegant and peaceful surroundings. Our courtyard cottages are beautifully appointed and open out onto the courtyard and walled garden where the hot tub and small summer house are located.
