Killoveenoge Church is typical of 19th century ecclesiastical design and construction - cut stone walls, brick highlights, a steeply pitched slate roof, an open beamed vaulted ceiling, leaded windows - all of which are in excellent repair and condition. The current owners have put in a sprung hardwood floor (suitable for dancing) in the main hall and there is a spiral staircase leading to an overhead balcony/gallery. In 1988 the Church of Ireland sold the property by public auction to the present owners (an architect, artist and healer) who beautifully restored the building for the purpose of using it as a centre for arts and healing. The deep water pier at Gearhies is about one mile from the property - a good place to moor a boat - and there are several small coves dotted along the coastline - good places to swim. The property is located in the townland of Killoveenoge near Rooska on the northern side of the Sheep's Head Peninsula in West Cork. It is five miles from Bantry and just over an hour's drive from Cork city and airport. Kerry airport is a 2 hour drive.
