David Skinner Wallpapers are Ireland’s specialist producers of traditional, hand-printed wallpapers. For over 20 years we have been researching and printing Irish historic wallpapers, and are constantly adding to our collection of patterns and borders reproduced from original designs found in Irish houses of the Georgian and Victorian periods.

Our unique archive of Irish period papers is the source of our collection, which includes classic damasks, a late nineteenth-century pattern of shamrocks, Regency stripes, Gothic patterns, and more – all of which can be printed in their original colourings, or may be custom coloured to your own specification. Our bespoke design and print service and friendly, personal approach is popular with anyone who needs quality custom-printed wallpaper in small quantities.

David Skinner & Sons’ origins are in paper conservation and in particular decorative wallpaper. Past projects include Castletown House, Fota House, Kilkenny Castle, Belvedere House, No.10 Henrietta street, Muckross House and Aras an Uactaran. Through the 18th and 19th centuries ‘paper stainers’ were numerous in Ireland. Some of their papers are still to be found in various states of repair throughout the country. With the extensive restoration of period buildings in recent years fragments of paper are regularly exposed with the removal of more recent wall coverings. Occasionally there is enough of the original artwork to reproduce the wallpaper. From investigative surveys and reports through to on-site conservation treatment, we have over 20 years experience in wallpaper conservation.
