Assolas House

Of particular historic architectural note are the unusual shaped windows, thickness of the walls, exterior of rough stone and mortar, elegantly rounded frontage and unusually deep cantilever roof with windows just below. The original tower house was redeveloped in the 1720s into the fine residence of today.

The walled gardens are to the north-eastern side of the house, with fine stands of mature trees and a variety of shrubs along the west bank of the Marybrook River.
